Traurige Nachrichten von der Savinja

Hallo zusammen

Die letzten Tage haben Südösterreich schwer mit Überschwemmungen und Murenabgängen getroffen, wirklich entsetzlich für die Menschen in den betroffenen Gebieten.
Auch Slowenien war/ist scher getroffen.
Wie stark in manchen Teilen, das wusste ich nicht.
Am Montag habe ich ein Mail vom Präsidenten des RD Ljubno bekommen(Wie wahrscheinlich viele andere auch).
Ich war entsetzt, ich besuche dieses Gebiet seit mittlerweile über 20 Jahren, aber dieses Ausmaß konnte ich mir nicht vorstellen.
Ich habe doch mit mir gerungen ob ich es hier einstellen soll, da es meine Landsleute genauso getroffen hat, aber einige von euch haben das Gebiet sicher auch schon besucht und werden sich nicht vorstellen können was für ein immenser Schaden dort durch das Wasser angerichtet wurde.
Hunderte Meter Straße fehlen, Häuser sind weggeschwemmt, das Dorf Raduha ist jetzt eine Insel weil die Straße jetzt auch der Fluß ist, Wehre sind einfach verschwunden...
Die wiederherstellung von so halbwegs normal wird sicher Jahre dauern.

Subject: IMPORTANT: Catastrophic flooding in the Savinja valley

Dear guests, dear friends of the river Savinja,

It is breaking our hearts to inform you that our Savinja valley was devastated by catastrophic flooding 4.8.2023.
The river destroyed the whole valley, many houses are gone forever. Roads in the valley are destroyed, as well as most of other infrastructure.
Several thousands of people have barely escaped and several hundreds have fought for their lives and were rescued by helicopters, some of them after one or even two days.

The flooding destroyed our fish farm in Podvolovljek, it destroyed our fish farm in Ljubno as well as most of our equipment, damaged our vehicles etc. Our hearts are truly broken. All the work from the past decades was gone in several hours.
Most of our local members have their houses flooded or affected by landslides. Others are helping in search and rescue missions or are helping to restore minimum infrastructure. The whole area is without drinking water, electricity and other goods.

Rescue services are helping people in areas that are cut off and they are delivering them food, water and power generators. At this moment there are no human lives that would be directly endangered and that is a miracle.

You can see the devastation in the valley between Okonina and Luče and from Podvolovljek (Lučnica) to Okonina (Ljubno) on the video that was taken by our president Križnik Gregor in one of the helicopter rescuing missions on 6th of August 2023.

For all of those who would like to help us please consider the following.
At the moment the club can not use any volunteers, any offers with human power or machinery help will be held aside and you will be contacted later when the situation allows normal access to our area.
Our club will need a lot of money resources in order to restore at least minimum capacities in our fish farm that will allow us to produce juveniles for restoring the fish populations to a minimum level. Fishing will not be possible for at least three years.

Da fehlen einem die Worte. Hab dieses schöne Tal mit der wunderbaren Savinja auch schon befischt. Ein einziges Drama. Aber nicht nur in Slowenien, leider auch in der Steiermark und in Kärnten hat das Hochwasser viele Existenzen vernichtet.

Da hast du recht Karl, ich habe noch viele Freunde und Verwandte in Unterkärnten und ich habe das Drama dadurch seit der ersten Stunde mitbekommen und schon dafür gespendet.
Deshalb habe ich auch mit mir gerungen es einzustellen weil es so viele betroffen hat und wollte die Ausmaße hier dadurch nicht verkleinern, aber in den Nachrichten war das Tal nicht mal ein Nebenschauplatz und die hat es wirklich auch sehr schlimm getroffen.
Und ich sehe an der Zurückhaltung bei den Antworten das ich es besser nicht eingestellt hätte.

Ich war letzte Woche beruflich unter anderem in Udine. Dabei bin ich auch in einige Gebiete in der Steiermark, in Kärnten und im Grenzraum gekommen, wo es noch deutliche Spuren des Unwetters und des Hochwassers zu sehen gab.
Teilweise kamen in mir Erinnerungen an die Überflutungen in Oberösterreich vor 10 Jahren hoch.

Unfassbar, welche Kraft das Wetter und das Wasser haben kann.
